About This Map

This map shows the composition of the Wisconsin State Senate as of March 1, 2011. The Senate consists of 33 senators who are elected to four year terms from districts around the state. Each senate district encompasses exactly three state assembly districts. Currently there are 19 Republicans and 14 Democrats.

Regular state senate elections are held in odd-numbered districts during gubernatorial election years (2006, 2010, 2014, etc.), and in even-numbered districts during presidential election years (2008, 2012, 2016, etc).
